On Saturday, December 20th, Luke Staengl passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. A beautiful funeral service was held the following day, attended by many who loved him, offering a heartfelt and fitting send-off.

Luke was the President of PESCO – Pragmatic Environmental Solutions Company, a member of Enfinite since 2008. Luke was an active member and served on the association’s Board of Directors.

Luke was a visionary with a strong technical mind and deep compassion for humanity and the environment. Throughout his career, he dedicated himself to projects that served both people and planet—from early work on community-scale fuel ethanol to later efforts in recycling industrial waste and used motor oil. His work was always guided by a belief in creating a more sustainable and connected world.

Born into a German pacifist Christian community in Paraguay, Luke carried lifelong values of peace, service, and community wherever he went. He was deeply committed to helping others and building meaningful connections, and in his final months he was surrounded by an outpouring of love from those whose lives he had touched.

Luke will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, and vision, and he will be greatly missed by many. His spirit lives on in the communities and work he helped create.

Luke has been succeeded by Bill Abraham as CEO of PESCO. Bill commented, “Luke cared deeply about Enfinite and its mission, and it was very important to him that PESCO remain an active and supportive participant in the Enfinite Conference and the broader sector it serves.”
